At first glance, we were completely intrigued to see what we thought was an omelet station at the Farm 2 Table Experience Wine to Glass Reception located on the premises of the Ernest H. Memorial Convention Center, then quickly discovered how these local eggs were transformed into an outstanding cocktail!
Lead Bartender, Christine Jeanine from New Orleans based restaurant Angeline showcased the Louisiana Hodgepodge with these stunning local eggs as ingredients. We knew right away Christine had an extreme passion for food and drink as she one-handedly cracked eggs into the tin shakers, as she lightheartedly flashed us her tattooed elbow which bared a fried egg! One, that ink had to of hurt and two, it looked pretty killer!
The Louisiana Hodgepodge
2 oz Oryza®️ Gin (rice based)
1 oz Lemon Juice
1 oz CJ's Three Brothers Garden Herb Syrup (basil, mint, rosemary, fresh stevia pant, sugar and water)
1 Egg White
Bittermens Orange Cream Citrate
Garnish with basil, mint or edible flower
This hodgepodge was so profound it not only "mixed-up" our tastebuds, but intrigued us to venture out and travel to restaurant Angeline in the next few weeks and order this cocktail from their menu! While visiting in New Orleans, make sure to make reservations on your OpenTable app at:
